We provide comprehensive support services to individuals with disabilities, assisting them in their daily activities, personal growth, and community integration.
$17.
00/hour starting rate - $500 HIRING BONUS DSP certification program available with potential for bonuses of up to $1000 within your first year.
Various part-time and full-time schedules are associated with this opening, with shifts available as follows:
3pm-7pm 3pm-5:
30pm 4pm-10pm 5:
30pm-10pm Tues - 10p-8a Friday Shifts:

30pm, 3pm - 6pm, 5:
30pm - 10pm As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in our Support Services department, you will provide one-on-one support to an individual with an intellectual and/or developmental disability.
You will assist with social, recreational, and educational activities in the Carroll County community, including transportation, or provide in-home assistance.
You will also assist with personal care and mobility on an as-needed basis.
In addition, you will:
Support each individual in achieving goals outlined in their Person-Centered Plan Assist each person in accessing their community by providing transportation, coordination, and support for activities of their choice.
Encourage decision-making skills and independence for each individual you support.
Ensure that all recipients receive quality services.
Prepare and provide proper accounting of time, funds and mileage as required by The Arc and the State of Maryland Provide documentation of time spent with individuals and their progress toward outcomes in the iCare system.
Know and comply with all required policies and procedures, regulations and guidelines of The Arc and the State of Maryland

High school diploma or GED2.
Valid driver's license with no more than 2 current points on record3.
Intermediate computer and keyboarding skills; ability to learn new systems quickly.

Clean drug screen and criminal record (The Arc provides programs, services, and direct care to vulnerable adults).

Completion of CPR, First Aid, Certified Medication Technician, and other trainings mandated by the Developmental Disabilities Administration and The Arc6.
Desire to provide individualized support to people with disabilities in an effort to help them achieve their goals and aspirations.
DSP PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1.
Ability to lift/manipulate at least 50 pounds frequently with ability to lit carry and/or exert force in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally.
2.
Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing required:
Including lifting a wheelchair and repositioning an individual.
3.
Ability to transfer individual from a chair to vehicle, bed to chair.
Ability to position individual on a sling or Hoyer lift.
Ability to physically secure individual in a wheelchair to the van with tie-downs.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
