Urgent requirement for Yard Jockey I Chewy in Chewy
Our Opportunity:
The ideal Switcher Driver I will work closely with the Chewy transportation and operations team. The function of this role is to back up the Switcher Driver II role and work within the FC performing dock related duties to facilitate transportation and FC functions. This can include responsibilities on the inbound or outbound docks as well as Transportation Coordinator roles to create depth in other positions. Responsibilities also require collaboration with all aspects of the FC operations, as well as Chewy carriers and vendors, to provide exemplary customer service in our Mechanicsburg, PA location. This position is critical in ensuring that the Chewy shipping/receiving docks have adequate support and can step into the driving role when needed. Additionally, while driving, this role will ensure a supply and constant flow of loaded and empty trailers that are positioned safely, accurately, and efficiently. Ideally, the successful candidate will have some experience in yard operations with an emphasis on switching or driving experience.
What you'll do:
- Work with transportation and operations teams to prioritize tasks
- Perform periodic spot checks of the yard and reporting on equipment
- Train on a regular basis to keep driving and trailer spotting skills current
